A grease barrier applied to fruit tree trunks that stops the flightless female winter moth climbing up to lay her eggs. Applied in autumn, it prevents the spring caterpillar damage entirely, with no spraying.

Apply a band of grease around each trunk in October and keep it sticky through winter.
